The Gospels Survey – 12 Lessons
The Gospels are introductory to the whole of the New Testament presenting four views from
four very different and yet devoted men chosen by the Lord to write what they saw and experienced.
The composite picture of the Lord within these books will aid the student in an understanding of the
rest of the New Testament.
In each of the Gospels we will see Christ differently and yet the same. For instance: Matthew
presents the Lord as Messiah-King [The Lion] showing His Sovereignty; Mark presents the Lord as
Jehovah's Servant [The Ox] showing His Humility; Luke presents the Lord as The Son of Man [The
Man] showing His Humanity; and John presents the Lord as The Son of God [The Eagle] showing His
Deity.
The goal of this course is to look from a panoramic type view of the Gospels as a whole and
then to zoom in slightly on each Gospel affording an overall compact picture of the foundation to the
New Testament.
